Yes I know you need to see my whole face!  working on it!  I love this pic because it has two of my favorite things: a little spoon + egg cups

After years of working as a graphic and textile designer while attempting to raise a family, I have come to realize how important health is to our everyday wellbeing. I wanted to find a way to help others in their journey through life’s transitions – both big and small.

I am somewhat of a “glass half full” person but having moved a lot in my adult life, I did not realize how much it affected me. In particular when I was a new mom I did not initially have the support of family / friends nearby. As a “can do” person in spirit this began taking its toll. I was the classic unruffled duck paddling furiously underneath : ) This left me with a lot of shame, feeling alone not knowing how to balance a career and 2 kids with moving every few years (even with a supportive husband).

I began working to discover what it means to be truly healthy in both mind and body. And what I thought was related to food choice and exercise patterns –which of course are important– it came down to much more: finding community, what really made me feel joy, less negative self talk, the home environment (less clutter? hmmm) and finding my way back to cooking real food.

What I hope to offer is a friendly –less judgy– approach to wellness. In fact I chose the word “wellbeing” as to me that is what it is all about: finding out what makes you feel good so that you treat yourself well which then leads to a cascade effect of health + wellbeing.

Take a look around, see what resonates,
then let’s chat,

PS Some of you may be wondering what happened to Little Spoons Design?  Well it’s still a thing (always up for a fun design project! and bags are here.

Hi!

I feel like the wellness industry would like us to believe if we just did (or buy!) this ONE thing we would be all set and reach our goals stat. Well if you have lived long enough you probably know that is not true and yet we still want to believe!

To me the first step is partially that: our beliefs. If we are able to focus on what we believe before we even think about what is on our plate, change can start to occur.

My main focus is on what is called Primary Food – which is actually not food at all but what else is going on in our lives from our mindset, social life, career to even our home environment. When we focus on what is OFF the plate we then are better equipped to focus what is ON our plate leading to lasting change beyond the quick fix. And for sure we will tackle nutrition along the way. Let’s figure out what works for YOU!
